Science Teaching Resources

The University of Washington’s Ambitious Science Teaching approach is central to the approaches used in this unit towards building scientific understandings. Their website contains many resources to support the work.

STEM Teaching Tools, from the UW’s Institute for Science + Math Education, has created a large number of one page “Briefs” that dive into various topics related to Next Generation Science Standards, STEM and equity in science education.

The National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) website is a great place for looking at the Next Generation Science Standards.  Practices, Crosscutting Concepts, Disciplinary Core Ideas, and the Performance Expectations are all cross-linked and easy to reference.

Check out this video from NSTA about three-dimensional learning, featuring a stormwater curriculum in a bilingual classroom.

  1. Hello,
We loved your footprint calculator and we are so sad that it is gone! Is there anyway we can access it??? We are Grade 5 teachers and it was SOOOOO helpful.

    Thank you.
